Kindergarten Center - Precious Old Forest
For years residents in Phoenixville, PA have used the Kindergarten Center as a little town park. The 7.4 acres of grassy fields and mature hardwood forest was recently sold by the School District to Toll Brothers, a luxury high-density developer. Locals are urging the town to set aside the land as a park in keeping with the comprehensive plan to include “parks, trails, and open spaces accessible by walking and transit”. Phoenixville is already densely populated. The Kindergarten Center is one of the few bits of public open space left. When Kara and Ryan bought a house in Phoenixville, PA they expected to raise their daughter Margo in a quiet neighborhood with medium density housing. The old Kindergarten Center across the street was like a park, with grassy fields and big, mature forest that the whole neighborhood enjoyed. Now it's owned by the Toll Brothers who wants to scrape away the grass and old forest to erect high density housing.
