Big trees in Pima Wash at the bottom of Quail Canyon in Tucson, just east of Oracle Road and south of Rudasill. Nine fairways appeared among the trees in 1965. The golf course closed years ago. Now a developer wants to build 120 2-story houses and 7 3-story apartment buildings here. Although the undergrowth and fallen branches have been cleared away, this is still old growth, an old growth woodland, and a vital part of our green infrastructure.
