There aren't many places in Tucson with year-round water. What will become of this marshy little pond and the life it supports? This one is on the Pima Wash floodplain in Quail Canyon, just east of Oracle Road and south of Rudasill. If a developer gets a pass on the current zoning, it will be next to a parking lot and part of a neighborhood with 120 two-story houses and 7 three-story apartment buildings. Or, if the money was there, it could be protected in a public park for everyone to experience.
