Ocean
Read MoreThe sea palm, Postelsia palmaeformis, or palm seaweed, is a kelp species in the brown algae group. Sea palms grow firmly attached to rocks along the western coast of North America, often in areas of very heavy surf and are frequently exposed to the air. Their tough, flexible bodies spring instantly upright after being pounded by each ocean wave. This picture was made with a very slow shutter speed so that the wave looks blurred and resemble clouds. Sea Palms reach a height of about 20 to 30 inches.
